ASP - How to inspect and download data

Additional information on individual datasets is available by clicking the “magnifying glass” icon in the result table at the bottom of the page. To download the data, click on the download icon in the top-right corner.

Inspecting Data

By clicking on the magnifying glass, the Dataset Detail page opens.

It displays the product’s main properties, including its associated files and provenance. If the file has been publicly released, a preview is also shown. The top buttons allow you to view the full file header, open the PDF release description, and, according to the defined proprietary rules, download the file, the complete dataset, or its preview.

Different features are available depending on the product type. For spectra, for example, you can zoom into specific wavelength ranges.

Downloading Data

When clicking on ‘Download Dataset’, the user is redirected to the Download Portal.

It is possible to include all or some of the associated ancillary products.

By logging in using the ESO User Portal credentials, a user can download his own proprietary data.
