Can I train in writing an ESO proposal?

Semi-regularly, the ESO Observing Programme Office and the User Support department  run Users Workshops to introduce new users, and update experienced users, to the most important aspects of preparing proposals, conducting observations and processing data using ESO telescopes and the ESO Science Archive facility, as well as providing demonstrations of tools and even one-to-one and/or group hands-on-sessions.

You can find more details about upcoming workshops and the material of previous ones at this ESO page

We recommend that you familiarize yourself with the p1 interface by creating test proposals using the public p1 demo. Here, you can get acquainted with the proposal preparation workflow, practice how to formulate your observing runs and set-ups, and test the submission. Remember that this is a public demo interface, hence be mindful about the information you are sharing.
