When will my OBs be executed?

Starting from the beginning of the observing period (typically May 1st), all scheduled runs are automatically added to the telescopes’ observing queues.

You can track the execution of your program in real-time through the User Portal: log in at https://www.eso.org/UserPortal, and select "Check the status of your observing run” within the “Phase 2” box.

To stay updated without checking the portal manually, you can subscribe to our Night Log service. This service sends an automated email notification whenever your Observation Blocks (OBs) are executed.

Information on the principles of Service Mode operation is available here. Please also note that the OBs are selected based on a ranking algorithm briefly described here.

Finally, the available slots for Service Mode operation and all scheduled runs for the period can be accessed here.
